Intellectual property
Rules and intellectual property
We work only with our own designs or models with clear rights for manufacturing and sale.
What we do not accept
- Protected characters from films, games, anime and animation (Pikachu, Mario, Baby Yoda, Spider-Man and others).
- Logos, emblems and trade marks (BMW, Mercedes, Nike, Apple, sports clubs and others).
- Counterfeit products and spare parts requiring licensed approval.
- Weapons, weapon parts, medical products or items restricted by law.
- Models that clearly infringe third-party design rights or copyright.
What we accept
- Original designs created for MakeMeFy.
- Designs by commissioned 3D designers under a written commercial agreement.
- Paid models with explicit permission to sell physical 3D-printed products.
- CC0 and CC BY models with proper attribution.
- CC BY-SA models where the share-alike terms are followed.
When you upload your own model
When you use the Upload a 3D model form, you confirm that you have the right to use it and that it does not infringe another party's copyright or design rights. MakeMeFy may refuse to print a model it considers risky for intellectual-property, safety or policy reasons.
Requests based on an idea
If a request includes a protected character, logo or trade mark, we cannot accept it. Where possible, we will suggest an original alternative with a similar function or style.
How we review models
Before a product appears in the catalog, we review the model's source and its licence terms.
